Getting to Your Infusion Appointments: Transportation Assistance for Oregon Patients

At Vital Care of Portland, we understand that getting to your infusion appointments can sometimes be one of the hardest parts of treatment. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, live in a rural area, or simply prefer not to drive after a long infusion, we’re here to help make transportation easier and stress-free.

From our infusion suite in Happy Valley to home visits across the state, our goal is to ensure every Oregon patient can access infusion therapy safely and reliably.

Transportation Shouldn’t Be a Barrier to Care

Infusion therapy can be life-changing, but it’s only effective if you’re able to get to your appointments consistently. Missing or delaying treatment can impact your health and slow recovery.

That’s why we partner with local and statewide medical transport providers to help you reach your appointments on time. Our care coordination team will work with you, your caregiver, and your insurance plan to identify transportation options that fit your schedule and coverage.

Transportation Options Available

1. Medical Transport Services

We can help arrange non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) for patients covered under Medicaid and certain commercial plans. These rides are staffed by trained drivers familiar with healthcare appointments and can accommodate wheelchairs or mobility aids.

2. Rideshare Coordination

For patients who prefer a faster or more flexible option, we can coordinate rideshare transportation (such as Uber Health or Lyft Healthcare) to and from your infusion appointment. These services are available throughout much of Oregon, including rural and suburban areas.

3. Family and Caregiver Support

If you have a family member or friend assisting with your transportation, we’ll communicate your appointment details and provide any instructions they might need—so everyone feels confident about the plan.

How Vital Care of Portland Supports You

  • Our team reviews insurance transportation benefits and pre-approval requirements

  • We coordinate with medical transport vendors or rideshare programs

  • We send reminders and trip confirmations before each appointment

  • We ensure you have a safe ride home after your infusion

For home infusion patients, our licensed nurses travel statewide across Oregon, eliminating the need for you to drive to a clinic at all.

Where We Provide Care

  • Infusion Suite: Located in Happy Valley, Oregon, just off I-205 for easy access from Portland, Clackamas, and surrounding areas

  • Home Infusion: Available throughout the state of Oregon, including rural communities, coastal regions, and the Willamette Valley
